ImproJammers is Melbourne’s newest group of up-and-coming improvisers. This year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival launches their brand new improvisation format, ImproDating, bursting onto the stage at one of Melbourne’s most exciting new venues, The Artery.
Experience the exhilarating highs and devastating lows of the dating scene, brought to life before your eyes, with new characters created by the audience every night! The stakes are high as each bachelorette competes for the man of her dreams and a big fat cheque for one million dollars!
We’ve all been through it: the singles dating scene, the awkward silences, the uncomfortable hand-holding, the mindless conversation, and that dreaded first kiss... ImproDating brings back all those fond memories. Throw in a host and some cheesy music and you’ve got a recipe for a great night of laughter and entertainment!
ImproJammers (a six member cast trained in improvisation) was formed in mid-2003, to create fun, exciting and challenging theatre, and is proud to present its debut production. The show’s creator, Leah Gabriel, is directing ImproDating for Melbourne Fringe in 2004. It will be her first project as director since returning to Melbourne in 2003 after travels throughout Europe and the UK. Leah trained as an actor and director at Northern Illinois University in Illinois, USA, during 1998-99.
